Classical contemporary family home

Formal sitting room

The brief here was to design an elegant formal sitting room.

A stunning sitting room was created using a soft palette of greys, taupes, silver, blues and gunmetal.

The high ceiling was brought down by decorating in grey to the dado rail. We installed beautiful handmade curtains consisting of a linen and velvet stripe designed to frame the bay window.

Furniture from the clients’ previous home, also designed by MIMOS INTERIORS, was integrated together with artwork, coffee tables, console, side tables, lamps and mirrors. A key feature was a bespoke rug with a leather border by Sylka, which grounds the space and adds a luxurious feel.

Family sitting room

The brief here was to design a relaxed sitting room to kick back in with family and friends.

A bespoke media unit was designed to house the TV and create storage and display space. The shelving was backlit with LED strip lights to create soft lighting atmosphere.

A textured plain blue wallpaper from Arte was used for the back of the unit to create softness and depth, and beautiful fossilised wooden handles adding a unique touch.

A bespoke walnut mirror was designed for above the fireplace, bringing additional reflected light into the room.

The classic Anniston Chair by Marie’s Corner in a soft blue linen was teamed with a leather taupe footstool, and a luxurious bespoke rug in pencil with a teal leather border was introduced to make the room feel cosier.

Sporty young teenage boy’s bedroom

A fun swing chair and a felt ball were integral to meeting the brief of creating a ‘hang out’ vibe in this bedroom, as well as a custom-made desk with textured concrete effect for both impact and practicality.

These were set on a back drop of soft blues and greys together with artwork of the occupant’s favourite football player in the limelight over the fireplace.

Roman binds in linen were made and installed to allow as much light into the room as possible.

Master bedroom

The brief here was to design a Balinese-style master bedroom that would sit well within a grand Victorian villa.

This was achieved using a stunning Tigermoth Lighting chandelier which set the tone for the rest of the room, together with a simple four poster bed designed and painted to specification and existing wardrobes which were revamped with textured a jute wall covering and horn handles.

The client and I fell in love with the charming Buddha bedside lamps, which rounded off the theme.
